business change and poker paypal (do you guys have real names?) - thanks for the comments. actually, for the first time ever, i've been quite inspired by the astrological animal. the strength and heavy down-to-earthness of the ox gives me a good feeling. maybe that's the conservative and stable part? (boy, that would be the first time, too, that i'd be saying out loud that i'm inspired by something conservative :)

Well we will have to wait to see the effect of this year in coming months.

Obama elected for the president and this was the good sign of this year.

I am crossing my finger and expect that everything will be stable once again.

That's one big ox! Aren't you excited about what this year is gonna bring? It's the year of the ox, and it's supposed to be a conservative year. I guess we'll just have to wait to find out. :)

@ulrika that's an interesting idea. i bet there's someone who has blogged about it.

@kansas i don't think that was the intention of the image, especially when you consider who took it.

The people of India really love their animals don´t they? It would be interesting to find out just how much animals contribute to helping the economy. It´s funny to see the ox eating carrots as well!

This beautiful photo is a beautiful example of a human in service to an animal. When I lived in Mumbai, there was a place where a woman sat on the side of the road with her cow. She sold grass bundles that we'd buy and then feed to the cow. My western mind at first thought, What a Racket!!! But as I opened myself to the practice I realized that she was giving us an opportunity for expressing compassion - both to her and to her animal and it wasn't so terribly dissimilar from lighting a candle in a Catholic church.

laughingyogini's last blog post..Insights from Jen Louden- retreat notes #3
