Thanks for the post, Isabella. I'm not one for prayer, but I remain amazed at the goodwill I've received since my diagnosis. If only we could all be so kind to one another when it didn't involve nasty diseases. :)

in prayer, it seems, there is "listening to", "listening for", and simply listening. the latter i find the most challenging. "listening for" the voice of the divine seems a bit easier. sometimes i remember to ask the divine to crank up the volume because otherwise i won't hear it.

a friend of mine puts it a little differently - he says that he hears the voice but often puts it on mute :)

once i hear the voice, listening to it, following it, seems to become easier over time.

your comment also made me think of the internet as a huge (and VERY loud!) prayer room. interesting thought.

Isabella, I loved your post. The internet as analagous to prayer is a delightful idea. I like too, the reference to prayer being conversation. Personally, I'm trying (struggling) to Listen in my prayer, as much as Talk. A challenge with human interaction; a challenge with the divine (who speaks very quietly!)
