'self' is what I experience from the inside as being 'me'. The 'self/me' which contacts others isn't pure because it is changed by every contact, takes a bit of that person into itself, leaves something of itself in that relationship... I think the “I” is an I-in-relationship. The person makes their adjustments and creative contribution – and this makes sense in the particular context.

I think we discover ourselves and our worlds in our creativity – but this is only possible for a self-in-relationship. If our self was reducible to the exterior (behaviourism) or the interior (some new age approaches) then this wouldn’t be possible.

This is a big discussion I know, so I hope what I am saying makes sense.
