		<description>apparently the snow on this particular photograph comes from carefully scratching the film.  i wonder whether that contributes to the 3D effect of the image, which, i think, again contributes to the serene, peaceful feeling of it all.

		<description>Why is it that snow in Japan looks so darn meditative, poetic, and beautiful? I actually saw a couple of geishas pass by while sitting in a cafe in Kyoto. There was an aura to them, especially since I&#039;d just read Memoir of a Geisha. Thanks for posting this.
