just to make it clear again, i didn’t take the picture – see the credits below it.
this mask sits in the museum of anthropology here in vancouver. with the red and black, it may be a haida mask, one of the first nations on the canadian west coast.
i chose this image for yesterday because yesterday was the day that our prime minister apologized to our first nations for the horrible damage done to them in residential schools. (see my previous post)
Never the less, it’s a powerful mask. Very interesting indeed.
