five haikus

i haven’t posted a poem for quite a while. so here we have, today, a serving of five haikus!

immense yellow ball
rolling up the horizon:
sweet buttery light.

allowed to stagger
through the courtyard; this beggar
longs for a warm fire.

waking up again,
she cries; it’s a cold, cold night.
her mother holds her.

many, many miles
from my reach and yet so close
to my heart: the moon.

sweet bathtub goddess,
steaming warmth in october:
soft ev’ning comfort.
