Great post, and I agree with your idea that ehealth is a good resource but so is echealthinsurance.com as they have listed every single public health assistance program on their site in addition to answering nearly every possible health insurance question. Actually, the brokers who represent the insurance companies are much more knowledgeable and unbiased than the “in-house” reps.

So, oddly, it is in YOUR best interest that the insurance companies keep playing that commission.

I may have my cynical head on but surely they are more interested in selling insurance (or getting commission from the eventual insurers) than in being genuinely concerned with ones well-being.

When insurance firms stop paying commissions, then we’ll see what sites out there remain, giving impartial and un-monetized advice.
